GONE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS
Ok, since I had my last exam yesterday, I just need to get away for a couple of days :-) We've been going to Oostduinkerke since my sisters and I were adorable little babies. I don't think I will get as tanned as when I came back from Italy in July (check picture :-)), but let's hope the rain will take a few days off! It's bad enough I had to miss the latest heat wave here in Belgium, due to my resits.
Remember last year's post? I think we're going to have the same scenario this year :-)
The moment I want to relive: just laying by the pool, looking all tanned and all:

Just one more day of studying and suffering! I had my second exam today and I'm glad to say it went well :-) Now let's hope tomorrow is going to be easy-peasy as well!

GIRLY WITH A TWIST
They have finally arrived, the last couple of days I will be stuck behind my desk, studying for my resits.. Even though I only had a few exams I needed to take again, I am sick of it! This weekend especially! It's Maanrock, a free festival, today and tomorrow in the city I live near. I always go, it's actually the first time in maybe 7 or 8 years I won't be going..
I hope Tuesday will be here quick so I can finally have a good night's sleep AND I will be going to the Belgian seaside for a couple of days. :-) Can't wait!

LIKE THE WIND
When we were shooting these pictures, I suddenly got this song stuck in my head. Like the wind by Vanessa Chinitor (no idea why it was that song, I swear), the Belgian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest of 1999 is not a song you hear every day :-) I suddenly had a flashback of her performance with the oversized sleeves on her dress and the excessive amount of wind!
I don't come out much these days, due to my resits. But I only have to do 2 more, on Monday and Tuesday. And on Wednesday I will be tanning, hopefully, on the beach in Oostduinkerke ;-) Too bad, the weather won't be all that, so I'll probably need to bring some fall outfits. I already checked the temperatures for next week, they don't look good (16°C!!).

TUTORIAL BEACHY WAVES
I just love my hair in beachy waves! So I decided to do a tutorial on how to easily make them appear in your hair, by using a flat iron. You do not necessarily need a curling iron, only if you should want to make the curls a bit bigger. I found this cute idea a while back on the internet and I tried it immediately.
What do you need to do?
1. First, make sure your hair is completely dry.
2. You need a comb, some small rubber bands (how much depends on how many sections you're going to make) and a flat iron.
3. So, time to get started! Start by making a couple of braids in your hair. I like to make 4.
4. Then, twist the braid away from your face and go over your hair with the flat iron in the same direction your hair is twisted. Repeat this process a couple of times.
5+6. After your hair is cooled, then take the rubber bands out and run your fingers through the braid.
7. The result: some nice beachy waves (hopefully :-))

HOTTEST WEEKEND OF THE YEAR

I's been a while since my last inspiration post, but the hottest weekend of the year is coming up! So skirts and shorts are making an appearance again. Too bad I'm stuck in my room all day, studying for my resits. Why couldn't they just start a week later, so I could be able to enjoy the good weather..

HERBEUMONT
My parents, my sister, my grandmother and I went to Herbeumont on Sunday. In the good old days, my grandparents, my dad and his sisters and brother went there on holiday a couple of times. My grandmother wanted to see the small town again, so we decided to make a day out of it. We walked alongside the Semois and had lunch in a typical Ardennes brasserie, while my grandmother kept telling stories about their holidays and how much she remembered. Good times!
I wore a simple look, perfect to do some hiking (uhm uhm). I know I'm standing on those rocks like a boss, but I have to be honest. I did almost fall in the water. Those rocks are slippery as hell! My shoes were soaking wet the rest of the day!

BRAIDS ALL THE WAY
Images via GlamourUk
Don't you just love wearing braids?? I do, but unfortunately my hair isn't long enough to make something that actually deserves to be called a braid. Plus, the last time I went to the hairdresser's, she cut my hair in layers. So every time I want to make a pony tail or a high bun, I have to use a bucket load of pins.. I really thought I'd past this stage.
But I still look for inspiration in creations from celebrities. Who knows, maybe you'll find some sort of trademark hairstyle :-)
I especially love Katie's and Whitney's look. Who's your favorite?

ON THE ROAD
You
guys, I have some fantastic news! Remember I was all nervous on Friday? Well, I
did the theory test to get my driver’s license and… I PASSED!! I couldn’t be
happier! I’ve been putting it off for years, using excuses that I would use the
bus and my bike to get to my destinations. But now that I can start learning
how to really drive, I just don’t understand how I’ve managed to wait this long
:-)
So,
since I will be driving a car, I need to see if I have all the essentials I need. Sunglasses are really
important when you’re driving a car. You need a really good one, one that will
block all the annoying sunlight! So what better excuse is there to look at some
sunglasses via www.smartbuyglasses.be.
Wayfarer
and aviator sunglasses have always been my favorites. In my opinion, you can
never go wrong when you’re wearing that kind of model. The most famous Wayfarer
sunglasses are no doubt the ones from Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Ever since she wore them in that awesome
movie, designers have copied them every season. Also aviator sunglasses have
always been popular. They just make you feel powerful I guess, since,
especially in America, police men and pilots wear them. I’ve always loved how
they looked on Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen.

I found
some great sunglasses on the website www.smartbuyglasses.be. You’ll find hundreds of sunglasses on that site, just amazing! These
are a couple of my favorites:
Marc by Marc Jacobs (wayfarer) - Ray Ban (wayfarer) - Ray Ban(wayfarer) - Emporio Armani (wayfarer) - Ray Ban (wayfarer) - Marc by Marc Jacobs (aviator) - Ray Ban (aviator)
Other brands you’ll find on there are Prada, CĂ©line, YSL, Burberry, Chloe, DKNY.. The iconic Prada sunglasses are also available on the site.

Now
let’s hope the sun will decide to stay with us a bit longer, so I can wear my
sunglasses. And by that, I mean not only in the car :-)
Be sure to check out the website www.smartbuyglasses.be. Not only for Ray Ban sunglasses, but other sunglasses or glasses as well :-)

BREEZY
Another blouse I bought during the summer sales. I just love all the details: it may look extremely prudish, with the high collar and all. But the high split on the sides is just awesome and something you won't expect. Perfect for those warmer days, but also for the colder evenings and nights.

BIG DAY TODAY
Wearing a simple look today :-) I'm doing something very exciting and nerve-racking this morning. I hope I'll have some good news to share later today. But let's not be too optimistic already, it might break my luck :-)
Wish me luck at 10 o'clock :-) We all know I need it!
